In this project, we weren't assigned to group nor were we expected to work as a group. The only true group work we actually did was critique each others pieces. But to be true, it still didn't end going well as I was given critique that either, one: said things that I already planned on fixing. Two: were suggestions that I didn't agree on doing. And Three: pieces of writing expressing what they liked. This happened for both the SCM writing and the atom model. I definitely believe that I could have given better critique overall.
There were things I learn that were not visible nor were they physical, but a new chemical reaction in which I found that I can write stories really well as long as I'm interested in writing them. Written communication was not used from me or others to me as well as I have hoped. But oral communication was great and helped me get through. People telling me what they liked and didn't like about my atom or SCM writing in person really gave me an idea on why they thought the way I did and made it so I could get critique as often as possible. Without oral communication my scm writing would definitely not have been as good and my atom model be disgusting. They both thrive thanks to my teachers and classmates.
The only thing I noticed me doing well was with grit. No matter how confused I got on what to write or how I felt that I would never get the model of the atom done. But that didn't stop me, I continue to work on both and come up with new ideas as much as possible. The end product ended up looking way better than I initially thought on both ends.
The exhibition, only being a mini one, really showed that our class is not willing to give up no matter what we had to do. Everyone was really passionate when it came to the writing and it was really obvious that we cared about what we created. Even though I worked really hard on my products, I wouldn't grade myself very high when it came to learning outcomes and class values as it feels as though I didn't really used them to help create my product. I enjoyed this project as I got to share a bit about how I feel about my own family.
